This option can be selected from the IT Settings menu by selecting the Date and Time Settings icon.

Upon selecting this option, the user will be brought to the following menu:

This menu provides the current date and time at the top of the screen and multiple options which include:

  • Set time zone
  • Set NTP server
  • Set Date & Time

Setting the Timezone

The set time zone feature can be selected by choosing the “Set time zone” icon from the “Date and Time Settings” menu. Once selected, the user will be provided a list with all of the available time zones and a prompt saying “Select Area”.

Depending on the selection the user makes, they may be brought to another screen that has more specific options for a time zone to choose. From there, the user can select a time zone that applies to their location. Once selected, the user will be prompted “Set this time zone?” followed by the selected time zone. If this is the desired time zone, the user can select the save icon which will update the time zone.
In some situations, the user will only need to select one time zone from the larger list and then receive the prompt to set that time zone. However, in all situations, the user must select the save icon to officially update the time zone.

Setting an NTP Server

The Network Time Protocol (NTP) server feature can be selected by choosing the Set NTP Server icon from the Date and Time Settings menu. The cabinet must have an active network connection to synchronize date and time to an NTP server. To use this feature:

  • Ensure that the cabinet is connected to the network (see Network Settings).
  • If necessary, add or delete NTP servers by pressing the Set NTP Server button
  • To add a server, press “Add NTP Server”. To delete a server, click on the server address you wish to delete and confirm the deletion.
  • Set the time zone by pressing the Set Time Zone button from the main Date & Time Settings screen.

Manually Setting the Date and Time

The last option within this menu allows the user to manually set the date and time for the system. To access this, the user can select the “Set Date & Time” option from the “Date and Time Settings” menu. Upon selecting this, a screen with a calendar and digital clock will appear.

The user can use this screen to manually set the date and time for the system. Upon completing this, the user can press the save icon to update the date and time.

Other Notes

  • Network Time Protocol (NTP) is a networking protocol for clock synchronization between computer system
  • In most situations, the list of NTP servers do not need to be modified. Contact your network administrator for questions about NTP servers.
  • If date and time are set manually, the incorrect date and time may be displayed if the cabinet loses power (i.e. in the case of a power outage). Time zone and NTP server settings are retained through a power outage.
