6.9. Cabinet Maintenance

This menu can be accessed by selecting the Cabinet Maintenance icon from the Administration menu. Upon doing so, a screen like the following will appear.

Adding Cabinets

Adding cabinets to the system is Not done from this menu. Instead, when a cabinet is registered to the cloud from the cabinet itself, it appears on the Cabinet Administration page. Refer to Registering a Cabinet with the Cloud for more information.

Editing Cabinets

To edit a cabinet, select the blue edit icon in the same row as the cabinet that is to be edited.

Once this is selected, the following menu will appear:

The top portion of the menu, labeled Editing Cabinet allows the user to edit the cabinet name, location, and status. The name can be customized with any name that the user desires. The location and status of the cabinet can be chosen from a drop down menu list.

The part of this menu labeled bins allows the user to customize the names of all of the bins and the type of materials/medications stored in each bin. The bin name can be customized for each bin with any entry and the type of contents is chosen from a drop down menu.

The last portion of this menu, labeled Location Users provides the same list that is found when editing a location in the previous section (Location Maintenance. This menu is edited the same way as described in that section.

!Note: editing users from the Cabinet Administration menu will still edit the users for the entire Location and not just the specific cabinet that is being revised. To prevent users from accessing a specific cabinet within a Location, a new Location must be created.

Deleting Cabinets

!It is Strongly recommended that cabinets are NOT deleted. If a cabinet has to be deleted, please contact CAREDirect.

Viewing Cabinet Contents

To view the contents of a cabinet, select the yellow Rx icon in the rightmost column

This icon will bring up a menu that shows the contents within each bin of the cabinet, including the drug nickname, amount present, and base unit of measure.

*Note: This menu is for informational purposes only and cannot be edited. To edit the contents of a bin within the cabinet, a user must login to that specific cabinet and complete this from the cabinet itself (see Bin Configuration).

Cabinet needs a Firmware Update

When a cabinet does not have the latest Firmware version installed, a fourth icon will appear in the rightmost column indicating this. The icon looks as follows:

If the cabinet has the latest firmware, this will not appear. To update the firmware, see Firmware Update.

*It is strongly recommended that when this icon appears that the firmware is updated immediately. The current firmware version also appears in the column to the left of this one.
